Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that projects like biogas and waste-to-energy will play an important role in overcoming the energy crisis in the province and will directly benefit the people.
In a meeting on clean energy, the Chief Minister said that biogas plants will not only provide biofertilizer for crops, but also provide cheap gas for domestic use. He said that biogas can prove to be an effective solution to strengthen the rural economy.
According to Maryam Nawaz, the electricity generated from the waste-to-energy project to be launched in Lahore will be used for electric bus and metro bus services, which will make the travel system more cost-effective and environment-friendly.
