Karachi: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has issued a new notification at the beginning of December, relaxing LNG prices, under which prices have been reduced on various gas systems.
According to OGRA’s announcement, the price of LNG for Sui Southern has been reduced by $0.68 per MMBTU, while LNG for Sui Northern consumers has been reduced by $0.57 per MMBTU. The new price for both systems is $10.78 per MMBTU. TU has been set.
Economic analysts say that this reduction will help reduce cost pressures in the energy sector. According to Senior Economic Analyst Arif Mahmood, “The reduction in LNG prices will immediately benefit power generation companies and industrial users, which may also reduce inflationary pressures to some extent.”
Experts further say that if prices remain stable in the global market, further relief in energy prices can be expected in the coming months.
