Islamabad: There is a possibility of increasing the prices of petroleum products in the country again. According to a private TV report, the government is considering increasing the margins of companies and dealers, and the summary has been sent to the ECC. According to the proposal, the price of petrol and diesel is expected to increase by about Rs 2.40 per litre.

The summary has asked to increase the profit of oil marketing companies and dealers from Rs 1.10 to Rs 1.28 per litre. Currently, OMCs are charging Rs 7.87 and dealers Rs 8.64 commission per litre. Currently, consumers pay a total of Rs 16.51 per litre to OMCs and dealers, but the new increase will be implemented only after the cabinet’s approval.

It should be remembered that the government had reduced petroleum products on December 1. Petrol is available at Rs 263.45 after a reduction of Rs 2, while the price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs 279.65 per litre after a reduction of Rs 4.79.
