Mardan: Speaking at a ceremony held in Mardan, JUI-F ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman called Pakistan’s foreign policy and the current political situation unsatisfactory. He said that Pakistan could not make Afghanistan a permanent friend in 78 years, which indicates that both countries will have to adopt realism instead of emotions.
Maulana stressed that peace in Pakistan and Afghanistan is possible only if all armed groups lay down their arms and become part of the political process. He said that clashes and wars are never a solution to any problem.
In his address, he also expressed disappointment over the overall situation in the country, saying that the economy is declining and the constitution has been twisted in the interests of powerful circles. According to him, the people are not seeing the Pakistan that was promised today.
Speaking on the issue of Palestine, he severely criticised the US President and said that “Palestinians are still bleeding due to Trump’s actions and our rulers want to give him the peace award.”
Maulana Fazlur Rehman also strongly rejected the 27th Constitutional Amendment and said that this amendment was passed “by buying members and through a fake majority”. He alleged that the current government is implementing policies that were previously blamed on others for implementing.
