Islamabad: Ahead of the start of the new judicial year, the Islamabad High Court has issued a winter vacation schedule for district courts. According to a notification from the Registrar’s Office, the courts will remain closed from January 1 to 8, 2026, while normal court proceedings will resume from January 9.

According to the notification, all offices, filing sections, and essential court departments will remain open despite the holidays so that case documentation, scheduling, and administrative activities are not affected. Urgent cases and fixed hearings will continue even during the holidays.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court has also announced holidays for December. According to the announcement, the Supreme Court will remain on vacation from December 18, 2025, to December 31, 2025, and will resume regular proceedings on January 1, 2026.

The announcement stated that during the vacation, important departments of the Supreme Court, including the Registrar’s Office, Filing and Research Wing, will remain functional so that there is no delay in the process of justice.
