Lahore: During Jamaat-e-Islami’s three-day “Bad-al-Do-Nizam” gathering, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman gave a resolute and principled message that Pakistan’s foreign policy should be truly independent. According to him, no external power should have the right to plunder Pakistan, and differences should also be resolved with “dignity and respect”.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman appealed for full support for Palestine in the gathering and invited the entire nation to remain united on this issue. He said that Kashmir is the lifeblood of Pakistan, and according to him, despite the sacrifices of millions, this region should not lose its importance — “Kashmir belongs to Pakistan, and Pakistan belongs to Kashmir.” He added that Kashmir and Palestine are the “deadline” of his movement.

He also used strong words regarding women’s rights and alleged that the leaders sitting in Parliament are not ready to speak on the inheritance rights of women. The leader of the Jamaat promised that if given the opportunity, the Jamaat-e-Islami would give all women their legal rights. He called the contractor system a cause of exploitation of women and called the rulers indifferent to public problems.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman presented a vision that the current system gives priority to capitalists and landlords, and for real change, both the social and economic systems have to be changed. He reminded us that the Jamaat-e-Islami will announce its new strategy during this three-day gathering, which is based on restoring justice, transparent governance and a system based on the sovereignty of Allah in the country.
