Major progress in the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program: More than 35 thousand houses completed, more construction underway

Lahore: The Punjab government’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program has made significant progress in the housing sector in the province, where more than 35 thousand families have completed the construction of their houses. According to the provincial housing department, more than one lakh citizens have directly benefited from this program as a result of the projects underway in different districts.

The spokesperson said that more than 72 thousand families are currently in the process of constructing their houses, and the government has so far allocated more than Rs 142 billion for this purpose. According to the spokesperson, interest-free loans are the biggest feature of the program, from which thousands of low-income families have benefited over a period of 9 years.

He said that in the next five years, interest-free loans will be provided to five lakh more families, which will prove to be a milestone in improving housing facilities in the province.

The spokesperson further said that this project has emerged as a successful example of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s housing vision, and the construction of permanent houses is going on rapidly not only in urban but also in rural areas. The project has also given rise to positive activities in the construction industry.
