Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken important decisions to improve urban facilities and administrative structure in the province and said that poor performance is unacceptable in any case despite the provision of funds, machinery and force.

A report was presented during the meeting that the results of the Clean Punjab programme in various cities are not as per the desired standards, on which the Chief Minister issued instructions to take action against the responsible contractors.
She reprimanded the district officers and said that incidents of manhole accidents and stray dog bites show the failure of the administration, which should be stopped immediately.

Maryam Nawaz stressed activating a modern monitoring system for the permanent elimination of encroachments and directed that round-the-clock surveillance be ensured through CCTV cameras.

She also ordered strict action, arrests and fines on housing societies for violating government norms.

The Chief Minister said that despite machinery worth Rs 40 to 50 billion and a large force, it is regrettable that the standard of cleanliness in many districts has not improved. She warned that the district heads who show non-performance will be replaced immediately.
