ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s national airline PIA has taken its cargo interline cooperation with Bangladesh’s Biman Airlines to a new level. The expanded agreement between the two parties will come into effect from December 1, 2025, making cargo operations between the two countries more integrated and convenient than ever before.
As per the agreement, PIA and Biman will use key cities in Saudi Arabia — Jeddah, Medina and Riyadh — as cargo transit gateways. Experts are calling it a “strategic regional trade corridor” that will give a new direction to economic activities in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
According to PIA sources, this cooperation will significantly reduce the complications faced in the delivery of products. The agreement is of particular importance for sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals and agricultural exports, as now traders of both countries will be able to benefit from more organised and low-cost cargo solutions.
