Trading volumes were exceptionally robust, underscoring the broad-based enthusiasm among investors. Over 952 million shares were traded, generating a total value of Rs42.26 billion across approximately 408,000 transactions.

Reasons Behind the Rally

Economists and market watchers were unanimous in attributing the upward momentum to improving fundamentals and strong policy signals. Key factors cited for the historic rally include:

  • Favourable Government Policies: Actions taken by the government have improved the business environment and overall economic outlook.
  • Encouraging Macroeconomic Indicators: Positive data points suggest stability and growth in the wider economy.
  • Improving Business Confidence: A general lift in business sentiment across various sectors has encouraged companies to reinvest and expand.

Market experts noted that the renewed and aggressive buying interest suggests a positive outlook for the capital market. They added that the momentum could well be sustained in the coming weeks, provided the government maintains policy consistency and continues to implement reforms that encourage stability.

The Friday close strongly suggests that investors are increasingly optimistic about Pakistan’s economic trajectory, translating directly into a monumental performance for the stock exchange.
