Islamabad: A new era of innovation and security is now starting in Pakistani passports. The Passport Department has announced that not only modern security features have been added to the new passports, but the name of the mother will also be listed along with the father to further complete the identity of the citizens.
According to the department, the visa pages of the new passports will be printed with images of buildings representing Pakistan’s historical heritage, which will include cultural highlights of different provinces.
After the approval of the Ministry of Interior, printing of the new booklets has started. The spokesperson says that the aim of these changes is not only to harmonize with global standards but also to make the data of citizens more secure.
According to the department, no major changes are being made to the basic design or data structure of the passport — only the security and aesthetic aspects have been improved so that the Pakistani passport can further strengthen its identity in the modern world.
