Punjab by-elections: ECP releases updated schedule; polling set for November 23

LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released a revised schedule for by-elections in five constituencies across Punjab, with polling set for November 23, 2025.

According to official details, by-elections will be held in NA-96, NA-104, NA-143, PP-98 and PP-203 of the Faisalabad and Sahiwal areas.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Election Commissioner said that appeals against the decisions of the Returning Officers can be filed till October 24, while the Appellate Tribunal will pronounce its decisions by October 31. The final list of candidates will be published on November 1, withdrawal on November 3 and allocation of election symbols on November 4.

The ECP confirmed that the schedule has been issued in accordance with the Election Act 2017, stressing that all stakeholders must ensure compliance with the electoral code of conduct.

Political observers note that these by-elections could play a key role in shaping the provincial political landscape, as major parties prepare to compete for influence in the elected constituencies.
