Karachi: The Canadian dollar is being quoted at PKR 205.50 (buying) and PKR 212.50 (selling) on the open market. Demand for CAD typically comes from education-related payments and professional services, as many Pakistani students and migrants use Canadian services and institutions.
A rising CAD increases the cost of overseas education and technical services paid in Canadian dollars. Exporters receiving CAD payments may gain a short-term benefit, but importers and families making CAD-denominated payments will face higher outflows in rupee terms.
