Contacts between PPP and PML-N restored, important meeting expected

Islamabad: Political contacts between the country’s two major parties, the Pakistan People’s Party and the Muslim League (N), have been restored once again, which is likely to pave the way for possible political cooperation in the future.

According to sources, a meeting of the negotiation committees of the two parties is underway at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is being chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. The meeting is being discussed in detail on the current political situation in the country, parliamentary cooperation and future strategy.

The PPP delegation includes Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sherry Rehman and Nadeem Afzal Chan, while the Muslim League (N) is represented by Malik Ahmed Khan, Ahad Cheema and Rana Sanaullah.

According to political sources, an important meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also expected after this meeting, in which political cooperation, future roles in the government and parliament will be discussed.

Sources say that in the meeting, the two leaders will discuss the promotion of mutual relations, political stability and future course of action so that stability can be brought to the country’s political scenario.
