Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has strongly denied reports of an extension in the date for filing income tax returns, saying that the deadline set for 2025 will remain in place.
According to the FBR, some people are trying to link the floods with the extension in the date, but in reality, most taxpayers were not affected and had full opportunity to file their returns within the stipulated time.
The FBR also clarified that the IRIS system is fully functional and the complaints circulating about its performance are not true. The spokesperson warned that taxpayers who do not file their returns by the due date will face legal consequences.
