Lahore: The air pollution situation in Lahore has reached dangerous levels. According to recent reports, the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has been recorded at 185, which is considered extremely harmful to human health.
The intensity of smog in Lahore has started increasing even before the onset of winter, which is badly affecting the daily life of citizens.
In the global ranking, Lahore has come first in terms of air pollution, while Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka is second and Indonesia’s city Jakarta is third.
Environmental experts have warned that the situation could worsen during the winter if the government does not take immediate steps. According to them, the intensity of pollution will not decrease without control over industrial emissions, vehicle exhaust and burning of residues in fields.
