Punjab Chief Minister approves education relief package for flood victims

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced major steps to rehabilitate flood-affected families and secure the future of the youth. She said that the education of students from flood-affected districts will not be affected in any way and a special education package is being given for this purpose.

Under this package, the fees of one semester have been waived for students of Muzaffargarh, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Chiniot and Kasur, while admission fees will not be charged from BS first year students. The last date of registration has been extended by 20 days and the deadline for applying for Honhar Scholarship has been extended by one month.

On the other hand, on the instructions of the Punjab Chief Minister, the process of construction and repair of flood-affected roads in the province has also been started rapidly. Under the supervision of Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, teams of the Construction and Communication Department are active in the affected districts and emergency work is underway to restore the roads.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has made it clear that providing complete relief and rehabilitation to the affected families is the top priority of the government and all resources will be utilized for this purpose so that the people get immediate relief and convenience.
