New opportunities are opening up for foreign investment in Pakistan: PM Shehbaz Sharif

London: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that there are vast opportunities for foreign investment in Pakistan, which is the top priority of the government to implement. He said that agriculture, IT, minerals, tourism, and renewable energy are sectors that can provide new strength to the economy.

He said this while chairing a meeting held via Zoom from London. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Cheema, Environment Minister Mosaddeq Malik, and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik, among other government leaders.

The Prime Minister directed all ministries to take practical steps to ensure timely completion of projects and new investments. He said that the economic roadmap would not be complete without the involvement of the private sector; therefore, it is imperative to promote partnerships.

PM Shahbaz Sharif said that the government’s ongoing economic reforms and transparency-based measures have given a new direction to the country’s economy; now there is a need to continue this momentum and open new avenues of development.
