Islamabad: The government has decided to provide RLNG connections to domestic consumers. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik, while presiding over the meeting, said that this policy is an important step towards providing safe and affordable fuel to the public.

According to the minister, RLNG is about 30 percent cheaper than LPG and the target is to benefit consumers on a large scale in the first year itself.

The Ministry of Energy has announced that consumers will be able to submit applications through online portals, mobile apps or through the offices of nearby Sui companies. To ensure transparency, separate project management offices will be set up in Sui Southern and Sui Northern Gas Companies, which will directly monitor all the stages.

According to the announcement, consumers who had already paid for natural gas connections will be able to get RLNG connections by paying the remaining amount. This policy will also provide great relief to past applicants.

According to experts, this project is not only part of the Prime Minister’s vision for affordable energy, but will also prove to be an important milestone in overcoming the gas crisis.
