Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir visit Bannu

Bannu: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid an important visit to Bannu along with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Prime Minister was received by the Field Marshal upon his arrival at the Cantt. On this occasion, both the leaders attended the funeral prayers of 12 brave soldiers who were martyred during the South Waziristan operation and paid tribute to the martyrs.

The Prime Minister and the Field Marshal later visited the personnel injured in the terrorist attack at CMH and appreciated their courage. Along with this, they attended a high-level meeting to consider measures against terrorism, where the Corps Commander Peshawar gave a comprehensive briefing on the security situation.

Security sources say that the network behind major terrorist acts in Pakistan is operating from Afghanistan, while these elements are backed by India. The Prime Minister made it clear in the meeting that no leniency or ambiguity will be tolerated in the response to terrorism.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that people coming from Afghan soil are involved in terrorism in Pakistan, therefore, the evacuation of illegally residing Afghans is now inevitable. He warned that any elements who become tools of external powers will be given a strong response.

He stressed that the Pakistani nation, especially the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stand firmly with the Pakistani army and the state against Indian proxies and terrorist elements. The Prime Minister directed that all necessary legal and administrative measures be implemented immediately for the complete elimination of terrorism.
