Yamaha announces closure of motorcycle production in Pakistan, warranty and spare parts continu

Karachi: Japanese motor company Yamaha has decided to close down its motorcycle production in Pakistan. In a notice issued to customers, the company thanked Pakistani bikers for their long-standing support.

Yamaha has assured that even after the production is stopped, after-sales service and spare parts will continue to be available through authorized dealers, and technical support will be provided under the existing warranty schemes.

According to industry analysts, the decision is linked to rising production costs, stiff competition from Chinese brands in the market and economic uncertainty. Yamaha’s withdrawal raises questions about the future of Pakistan’s premium bike sector, where price and sports availability could be a major challenge.

The company made it clear that despite the production halt, it is committed to supporting customers, but long-term customer service and price competitiveness remain key questions.
