Lahore: The Punjab government has taken a big decision for the working class. According to Provincial Minister for Labor and Manpower Faisal Ayub Khokhar, the minimum monthly wage has been fixed at Rs 40,000 and its notification has been issued.

He said that a laborer working for 26 days will be given at least Rs 40,000, while the wage of a laborer working for eight hours a day will be Rs 1,538.46.

Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that the field formations of the Labor Welfare Department have been directed to ensure full implementation of this decision. A crackdown will be taken against those institutions that do not pay the minimum wage.

The provincial minister said that the welfare of laborers is among the priorities of the government. It should be remembered that in the recent budget, a proposal was made to increase the wages of laborers, along with this, the salaries of government employees from Grade 1 to 22 were increased by 10 percent and pensions by 5 percent.
