Washington: Speaking to reporters at the White House, US President Donald Trump said that he had a very positive telephone conversation with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
A journalist asked about further sanctions in the wake of Russia’s recent attacks on Ukraine. President Trump clarified that “Yes, we are moving towards the next phase of sanctions against Russia.”
It should be noted that President Trump is not happy with some European allies continuing to trade oil and other products with Russia. They have also imposed heavy tariffs on India’s purchases of Russian oil, to increase pressure on the global market and strengthen the effects of sanctions.
